Combo
This bento is the perfect combination. The top has bread pieces, chicken, and humus. The bottom has a fruit salad of plum and kiwi. I threw a chocolate granola bar in there too for dessert. There's protein, carbohydrates, and fruit.

Swirls
This bento is full of cool stuff. On the bottom there are bologna rolls, raw baby spinach, crackers, and bonbel cheese. On the top are two lychee bubbub candies, trail mix, pineapple, and freshly baked apple cinnamon bread. Yup, I'm not kidding. Instead of coming home and crashing, I baked apple cinnamon bread. (It was from a box, but still...)
If you have any interest in more info on my swirl theme, under this cut you can get More...
I have used bonbel cheese in the past to make a pattern and spruce up an otherwise dull bento. This time I tried something different. Instead of cutting an image in the cheese I created a 3D spiral. You can do this with a mechanical pencil and sharp knife. With the pencil click it until there is no lead tip. carve a pattern loosely into the wax. Go over the engraving with a knife.

Vegetarian For A Day
I went with a vegetarian bento for tomorrow. Sadly this one's a little low on protein, so I may bring a humus cup and some multigrain chips along for the ride.
In this bento, however, there are apple slices, goldfish crackers, chocolate covered almonds, and a salad topped with feta cheese, craisins, and walnuts. Dressing is in a separate container.

Return of the Bento-Builder!
School is back and so am I! I even have some new gear to boast. It's not what I was expecting but I have two new bento solutions that I am pretty happy about. Today I'll show you one of them. But, more about that under the cut. In the meantime, here's my next bento:
On the top I have a sliced chicken breast on a bed of baby spinach with snap peas as garnish. Next to that are roasted pumpkin seeds and plain goldfish crackers. On the bottom there is a wrapped cheese stick, a sliced apple, a piece of banana, and a slice of lime. There's also an applesauce cup and a granola bar coming along with me.

I got this at a store called Tokai. It's located in Boston. They have a pretty minimal selection of bento supplies but what they do have is great.

New Year's Resolution
I'll be the first to admit I've fallen off the bento-wagon and my diet has begun to consist of whatever I can grab on the go. A lot of that is fast food that's high in fat, sodium, and price. However, it's a new year and my resolution has been to return to bento-making. My days have become much longer this year requiring meals that can last longer without refrigeration and often something that can provide both lunch and dinner. As a result some of the materials I've used in the past are off the table and I'll be looking to incorporate some new stuff. If all goes as planned there might even be a new Bento Box that's a little more work friendly.

A Break from Liquid Lunch
I know I've been away for a while. School elections have basically taken over my life and my idea of lunch lately has been a smoothie from a place by my school. However, I do have tomorrow's bento here for you. In the green divider are butterfly crackers, bonbel cheese with flowers cut in the front, and two pepperoni roses. In the orange divider there are cucumber and cherry tomatoes. I have canned peaches in the blue divider, and some raspberry fig newtons and half a stroopwafel in the pink divider.

Spring Ahead
So the clock has sprung ahead, and so has the semester. For the long absence, I apologize. However, it's officially post-spring break and the bentos are flowing once again. Due to illness and impatience this one's a bit hurried, but the idea is there, just imagine it's nice to look at. So I have a lettuce bowl, with turkey rolls inside. A muffin tin full of peanuts, chocolates, and a lychee bub bub candy. Finally there's some cottage cheese and sliced pineapple which will go quite nicely together I imagine.

Snack Bento
So, all of my Bentos thus far have been reasonably healthy. This is the very first that is made up almost entirely of junk food. I have a 4 hour bus ride tomorrow from school to home for spring break and decided that I needed something fun to take along. I have milk pocky, broken up winter pocky, chocolate mushrooms, strawberry and kiwi high chew gummies, fizzing lychee bub bub candies, dunkaroos, and salted peanuts. And then, just in case I'm not in a sugar coma yet, I'm taking two apples along for a little fructose. There's another pic behind the cut with my two apples.

Odds and Ends
With Spring Break coming up I am, once again, getting low on supplies. The nice thing about Bento is that odds and ends can be used without any problem. In the blue divider I have humus with paprika on top, and tortilla next to it. In the orange divider there's sectioned dates, celery, and carrots. In the pink divider is sliced kiwi. Finally in the green divider there are a couple of different things, pepperoni in the cupcake tin, peanuts to the left of the tin and dunkaroos to the right. For anyone who hasn't heard of dunkaroos they are little cookies with frosting (the frosting's that strange blue nub sticking up). In the corner, with the silverware I was even able to fit a lychee flavored bub bub candy.

Brisket and Flowers
Here is another bento with my very first attempt at a tomato rose. I hadn't realized how delicate it was, but I'm not too disappointed with my first attempt. Under the rose is raw broccoli and some baby spinach for leaves and a stem. I have a brisket sandwich, kiwi flowers, blood orange slices, fig newtons, and broken up pocky, milk and crush.
